  Prayer of Blessing
(for a completed shawl)

May God's grace be upon this shawl . . .
warming, comforting, enfolding and embracing. May this mantle be a safe haven . . . a sacred place of security and well-being . . . sustaining and embracing in good times as well as difficult ones.

May the one who receives this shawl
be cradled in hope, kept in joy, graced with peace.

And wrapped in love.

Blessed Be!

Annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch
Saturday, April 24, 2010

Saturday, April 24, was the date for the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch. Many of the current volunteers were there to partake of the lucious food prepared by J.M.B. Catering Co. . . . Jean the Food Queen to us. Since there were several Volunteers unable to attend, I would like to share the non-food high points with you.

Rather than a small gift to each one, there has been a generous donation made in your names to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Relief Fund. We feel that this constitutes a meaningful gift that goes a long way.

Here is also the gracious note sent you all by Caroline MacDonald, Beacon Volunteer Coordinator and Friend to us al (below). And lastly, the poem I found that speaks to all of you (also below). You Volunteers are the core, the heart of Hospice of York; without you we would not be able to do what our msision calls for us to do . . . to BE THERE for our neighbors.

A huge thank you, along with a big hug to each and every one of you!!

Love, Dee

One more note: here are the Door Prize Winners from the lunch;
     Bette Garrett won the handmade quilt
     Bridget Coullon won the gift certificate from the Sun & Surf restaurant
