Prayer of Blessing
(for a completed shawl)
May God's grace be upon this shawl . . .
warming, comforting, enfolding and embracing.
May this mantle be a safe haven . . . a sacred place of security and well-being . . . sustaining and embracing in good times as well as difficult ones.
May the one who receives this shawl
be cradled in hope, kept in joy, graced with peace.
And wrapped in love.
Blessed Be!

Hospice of York's own "Knitters AHOY (at Hospice of York)"
group was founded in 2005 by Margaret Ferrera (pictured at left on left) who was inspired after
presenting a "comfort shawl" she made to her client, Mary
Irwin (on right).
A comfort shawl is a tangible gift representing the many and continuing
prayers for comfort, caring, healing and love offered for a Hospice
patient or family member.
Margaret's group of knitters meets on a regular basis so if you are
interested in joining the group or donating yarn or money for yarn
please call Margaret at 207-363-0796 or the Hospice of York Office
at 207-363-7000.
Joan Simard, Dee Bickmore and Don Simard (Past President of Hospice Board) at Hospice Christmas Party in December 2006. Joan and Don, who has cancer, both received shawls.
